Unzipped Proposal

I am following the complete proposal process Ginette posted here http://sites.google.com/site/zindrabusiness/home/zexpo-island-seasonal-events-campaign.
_____________________________________________________________________

OVERVIEW
1. Any Zindran resident whose account is in good standing can submit a proposal for a large event that will take place on 'Zexpo Island'

2. Events should be unique enough (unlike anything else in SL) to attract non-Zindrans who will take the trouble to age-verify and go to the event.

3. Events should be 'big enough' to make it worth doing and get a lot of promotion.
Guidelines to indicate 'big enough' (some or all must apply)

* - physically big: will require 4 sims of space and/or prims
* - promotionally big: will have impact on SL and draw many residents to Zindra to age-verify
* - economically big: will encourage new business growth on Zindra

4. Events should be all inclusive and open to the public.

5. Some events could feature Zindra content (such as Zexpo did) but many/most should focus on global content that is from outside Zindra, or would be of interest to non-Zindrans too.

6. if approved, the event will take place on Linden Land, meaning all participants must abide by the TOS and CS

7. TYPES OF EVENTS
There are two main types of events that may be proposed:

* - New events that are created/produced by Zindrans
* - Pre-existing events (that have some draw) that are 'hosted' by Zindrans

Note about Pre-Existing Events: even if an 'outside' event is hosted, there must still be a Zindran team providing the hosting, facilitating the event to ensure it fits with our outreach and marketing plans. Such events must still pass through the same proposal process as submitted by the Zindran hosting team.
_________________________________________________________

8. PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS
To propose an event, a Zindran must follow the following procedure:

* - Write Event name, brief description of event, its purpose and uniqueness
(what makes it ‘unique’ compared to other events in SL already)

Unzipped 2011 is the second year event developed by the Zindra Allaince to promote Zindra business. This event was developed in 2010 by Counter Landfall and the Zindra Alliance group members in order to create awareness of Zindra and increase sales for the ZIndra Business people. This event is unique because it is the first mainland event developed and financed by a community using Linden Lab parcels. 100 adult business working together to celebrate their unique products and services.

* - Include a land-use plan (as best as possible at an early stage). This could be a basic diagram and/or well-written explanation.

The Land usage will include the 4 full sims available for community events in ZIndra. Three sims will be used as sales booth areas for the Zindra business people. The goal is to have 100 business represented on the three sims. Each of these three sims will have unique themes that the business will design their sales booth around. The themes are the following: EARTH, FIRE, WATER. Each of these retailer sims will have a collaboratively built center piece and presentation area in the center of the sim. There will be build classes, virtual business discussions and product presentations in these three areas on a rotatiing schedule. This will give each sim daily traffic and advertising.

The fourth sim will be the welcome area sim and will be designed as the interactive Zindra Experience. The curator of this island will be Sissy Blitz. Sissy and 4 volunteers will use elements from the 100 business and create the one sim experience that celebrates Zindra.

* - Describe a compelling inworld experience for event attendees ('sell' the idea to us)

Event attendees with experience first hand the many facets of the Adult continent of Zindra. They will interact with the merchants that chose to move to Zindra and see that ZIndra is not just about sex - but about adult-oriented products and artists coming together to celebrate what they do.

The Blogger's Lounge will have a press release calendar that SL blogger's can use to interview Adult COntent providers on certain days in the lounge.

* - Indicate how many sims are needed (maximum 4)4 Sims are needed for Unzipped. Three sims will be used for merchants and the fourth will be the Welcome area and interaction community build.

* - Choose ideal date / season (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter)

Opening day will be on Friday April 22nd (soft weekend opening) and the Opening day ceremonies will be on Monday, April 25th 10AM SL time. Closing day is Sunday, May 1st.

The complete proposed time line is as follows:

PRIM NEEDS: Each island has 15,000 Prims available to it. Each merchant will be alotted 250 Prims (33 merchants on a sim will use a total of 8,250 prims. 9. EVENT TEAM
- Show list of committed staff (minimum of 5): People who are confirmed as team members for the project. Their commitments must be validated, and their ability to work (daily) on the project would need to be ascertained. A mix of professional experience and willingness to learn/work as a team member must also be ascertained. Of course, the staff will likely become much larger, but a starting number of people should be enough to get the project approved.

* - Include a list of the committed staff so far, their specific roles, and previous SL 'credits' if relevant
* - Include a list of unfilled roles so far

Core Organizers: Prepare marketing material, Recruit coordinators and ensure timeline is followed.
Counter Landfall

Adorabella Felisimo
DT Zanzibar
Clovis Luik

Zindra Business Registration Coordinator: Take registrant application info from google site, contact merchant to complete registration process, assign merchant sim plot, inform sim coordinator of merchant assignments.
Bady Boozehound
Lias Leandros

Welcome Coordinators: Coordinate teleport area to each merchant, assist bloggers with interviewing merchants, assist visitors with locating merchants and events.
*
*

Event Producers: Schedule events for each sim.
Srod Bombastic
Dave64 Hancroft

All team members must

* - have been active within Second Life for at least a year
* - be in good standing with Linden Lab

Notes about Teams:
There must be a clear hierarchy within the group. Who is the leader? Who is responsible for what? What are they accountable for? What happens if they fail to fulfil their duties?

Each position has two people assigned. If one is incapable of following the timeline then their partner will pick up the slack.

The team as a whole should have clearly defined purpose and be a stable community with clear leadership to represent it. The team must be accepting and open to new users and not exclusive or closed.

_______________________________________________________________________
10. TIMEFRAME
the schedule of these events would be seasonal...every 3 months. This allows for enough planning time for a professional event. Less than 3 should not be taken too seriously! LL will negotiate with the proposer for the exact date on the schedule. In this way, a sensible annual schedule can be planned in advance.
Assume an average of 6 months in advance from proposal time to event start (if approved)
Note: Assume 3 months minimum planning time (4 if passing through the Christmas holiday season)

11. HOW TO PROPOSE
A full proposal must be presented during a Zindra OH meeting, made available via notecard for any who request it, and published someplace online so that as many as possible can review it. If this effort has been made for one week minimum, the proposal can then be submitted to the appropriate LL representative.

12. ONE YEAR LATER
If seasonal works out, this plan could move to a more frequent schedule for the next year.

WHY THIS PROPOSAL IS GOOD
1. Global content 'hosted' on Zindra is more high-profile, mainstream, accessible and far more marketable. Can still be 'adult' but that definition can be very broad.
2. The three-month window for events means that the staff of any event is never dominating Zindra's outreach efforts, and even if the event fails, it is guaranteed the staff will change soon enough. I believe there should NOT be any permanent staff in this way, to allow fresh ideas and talent to always enter the campaign.

AFTER AN EVENT IS APPROVED
1. The team for the approved event should start meeting/planning (on their own time) as soon as possible and must demonstrate they are using the full build-up time (minimum three months in most cases)

2. The team for that event must send one representative (at least) to each weekly Zindra OH meeting to give a brief update about progress. Note: 'brief' means just that (under 15 minutes?) The details of the planning should not take over OH meetings, because there will likely be many other topics people will want to discuss, unrelated to the event. In lieu of OH meting appearances, a team may choose to write a brief update notecard OR post a brief update on their event website and make that NC or URL accessible to the OH meeting. (note that an event website is required for approval anyway)

3. The team for that event must appoint one representative to have Notice-sending abilities in the Zindra Expo Group, (arranged with LL, of course) so that basic solicitations and announcements can be made, when appropriate. This ability must not be abused, and a limit of one Notice maximum per day should be the standard. There might be few notices during early days of buildup, with a desire to make more frequent ones as the opening day approaches for the event, but I would still suggest a maximum of one per day to prevent 'Notice Noise'

4. All team members for the event should be given whatever group abilities and/or land abilities needed for the buildup time and event duration. Some events will require very early building, for example. This should be considered on a case-by-case basis.
There will be no banning or terraforming abilities given. Regions must be used 'as is'

5. After an event's conclusion, the clean-up plan must be enacted.

6. After an event's conclusion, and final wrapup, team members must 'step down' as their duties are complete, relinquishing any special group or land abilities.
